To commemorate the opening of SHIROIYA HOTEL on Saturday, December 12, 2020, we will hold a pre-opening exhibition titled "The Place of Encounter ~ The 8 Artists of SHIROIYA HOTEL~" at Phillips Tokyo in Roppongi, Tokyo.

SHIROIYA HOTEL, which will open on December 12, 2020 in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, will be a place where people gather through art and culinary culture. Surrounded by beautiful natural gifts as the Tone River and Mt. Akagi, the city is now beginning to embrace a new look through art. Launching this transformation first are eight artists based in Gunma who will be displaying their works in Tokyo ahead of the hotel’s opening. These artists are active both in Japan and abroad, creating works related to memory, matter, landscape, and body using completely different media. At this time of rethinking the relationship with the environment and the city, we invite you to see these art works.
